SCUA General Information

South County Umpires Association is a Northern California sports officiating organization and has provided baseball and softball officiating services to Western Alameda County schools and local leagues for over 50 years. Currently we service High School softball for the West Alameda County Conference as well as baseball and softball for several independent high schools.

Each SCUA member is an Independent Contractor, coordinated under the bylaws and provisions of the association, and who officiates under the rules and regulations of the athletic leagues and organizations serviced by SCUA.

Our new season of officiating starts with our general meetings beginning in the middle of January. Our field clinics and scrimmages occur early in February, with the regular season running thereafter through the end of May. Beginning in late September, we handle Middle School softball officiating for the Southern Alameda County Middle School athletic league. Our middle school league runs through the month of October and provides all officials a chance to improve their officiating in a low stress environment while performing service to our local middle school athletes.
